The Association of Play Therapy Kenya
( APTK) is a professional organization for counsellors, psychologists and other mental health professionals who use play therapy as an modality for working with children. It was registered in May 2020 and exists to:

Categories of membership
We offer different types of memberships, all catering to different types of people
International
Individuals residing outside Kenya and practicing play therapy- Registration fee, Kshs. 5,000
Students
Persons who are undertaking courses in fields relevant to play therapy provided that the membership shall be limited to duration of their study. The annual registration fee is Kshs. 1,000
Professional
An individual with accreditation from their respective mental health professional organization, who practices play therapy. Professional members are eligible to vote. Annual registration fee is Kshs. 1000
Affiliate
Other individual’s and non-mental health professional working with children and whose application is approved by the board. Registration fee is Kshs, 500
Honorary
Members who have retired from active practice and are still interested in continuing with membership- Registration fee, Kshs, 500
Corporate Members
Corporate membership shall have no right of vote and shall comprise of, registered practices, organizations and educational institutions working in the field of play therapy or children’s psychosocial wellbeing. Registration fee, will be Kshs. 7,000
